Description: - ff. i + 23 - Bound, s. XVI mid, in polished leather over heavy pasteboards, with plain rules, front and back, forming a central panel that encloses a gold ornament in the center, and that sprouts one gold fleur-de-lis at each corner; four round flowers in each of the four compartments on the spine; two fore edge ties in dark green silk. On the front cover, an inked inscription. - Note on front pastedown, s. XVI: “Desen boeck hoert toe het ghasthuys Van onser Vrouwin tot Mechilen anno Christi Xv lxv [=1565] xxiiii Iunii, Dominica prima post trinitatis. <?> sonder Gheest.” In a large script across the top margin of f. 1, “Onse L. Vrauwe gasthuysbinnen, Mechelin, 1690.” This body of materials pertaining to the hospital in Mechelen (seven documents and one ritual, catalogued as Western MS 099-Western MS 106) was acquired from Christie's London by private agreement in May 2015.
