Description: - ff. 67 - Bound, ca. 1840, in dark red morocco with the Bridgewater crest on front and back covers. - Composite manuscript made up of fragments of 3 or 4 legal books of Italian and English origin, brought together at an unknown date. The first and largest of these was in England before the end of the fourteenth century, when foliation, running headlines and marginalia were added. On f. 1, pressmark S. 1./2. in the hand of John Egerton (1622-86), 2nd Earl of Bridgewater. Acquired by Henry E. Huntington with the Bridgewater Library in 1917 (see pp. 5-7). - C. W.
