Description: ff. viii + 540 + v - s. XVIII white morocco over marbled boards - Dominican convent in late s. XIII; Vicente de Lisboa, O. P. (d. 1401), his note on p. i, Ista biblia est fratris vincenti iohannis ulixbonensis de ordine predicatorum. Deposited in the Celton loan chest at Oxford as a pledge, 3 April 1400 by Nicholas Henry (d. 1427) and John Vyfyan; later owned by William Bromley (s. xvi-s. xvii). For Vicente de Lisboa, Nicholas Henry, John Vyfyan and William Bromley, see A. B. Emden, Biographical Register of the University of Oxford to AD 1500, pp. 1151, 910, 1952 and 542.Later, belonged to Robert Brent (s. XVII). Andrew Gifford (1700-1784), bequeathed by Gifford to the Baptist College, Bristol. - N. R. Ker, Medieval Manuscripts in British Libraries (1977) 2:193-194 under Bristol Baptist College, with call number Z.d.39, for the early provenance and the careful description of the text with its prologues.
