Description: - ff. xxxiv + 410 - Bound, s. XVI in, in brown tooled leather over wooden boards, with Oldham stamps 234, 243 and 999 (see J.B. Oldham, English Blind-Stamped Bindings, 1952, p. 27 and pl. xxi). - Belonged to Richard Nykke (or: Nix; ca. 1447-1536; for his library, see Emden, Biographical Register of the University of Oxford, 1958, ii:1381), the last Catholic bishop of Norwich. Henry Thomas Barratt: his inscription dated 1826 inside front board, recording the gift of the book from his father; most probably the attorney and solicitor active in Huntingdon in the 1820s and 1830s. Given by him to the Law Society, in London: their MS.6 (105.g). Sotheby's, 2 July 2013, lot 56. Sold by Les Enluminures (their TM 745) to the Huntington Library in 2015. - N. R.
